HOW INVISALIGN®
WORKS
Unlike traditional braces, there are no brackets or wires with Invisalign®. Instead, we’ll use a series of clear, removable aligners to gently move your teeth into a better, more aesthetically pleasing position.
During your treatment, you’ll replace your bespoke aligners every couple of weeks. Each new aligner applies just the right amount of pressure on your teeth to make controlled adjustments.
Some milder cases can be treated in as little as 6 months, while typically, most adjustments take 12-18 months. To achieve the best results, you’ll need to wear your aligners as much as possible, ideally for a minimum of 22 hours each day.
WHAT CAN INVISALIGN® HELP WITH?
CLOSING THE GAP
Diastema is the gap between your teeth. These gaps can be particularly noticeable when they’re front and centre on your upper arch. Invisalign® helps close the gap by bringing your teeth closer together.
Closing gaps between your teeth will make caring for them more manageable because they can be hard to clean, making them sweet spots where plaque and tartar may form.
REDUCING OVERCROWDING
When teeth compete for space on your jaw, recurrent decay can become a problem. Not only this, but noticeably overcrowded teeth can make you self-conscious about your smile.
Invisalign® gently alters the position of your teeth by exerting just enough force. Over time, these gradual movements make a noticeable difference to the position of your teeth, giving you a smile you can feel good about.
BITE ISSUES
The position of your teeth can affect your bite and make chewing difficult and even painful. A misaligned bite can lead to pain in the jawbone and facial muscles. These can include:
- Overbite – Sometimes referred to as ‘buck teeth, ’ overbite is where your top front teeth extend over the lower
- Crossbite – When your upper and lower teeth don’t line up while closed, you may have a crossbite
- Underbite – If your lower teeth extend in front of your upper teeth, you may have an underbite
- Open bite – Anterior open bite is where both the upper and lower sets of teeth slant outward

The innovative and removable Invisalign® aligner system is subtle. Because the aligners are made of transparent medical-grade plastic, your aligner will be virtually invisible, making it very difficult to spot them. Not only that, but your aligner is lightweight and comfortable.
Unlike fixed braces, cleaning your teeth and eating is straightforward. You can eat whatever you like without worrying about food debris and bacterial build-ups between wires and brackets.
Invisalign® works quickly. Braces require multiple adjustments, requiring long and sometimes uncomfortable appointments. With Invisalign®, your aligners will be replaced every few weeks, meaning less time spent in the dentist’s chair.
